I started trading part-time in 2007, and I started my full-time trading from 2013. A lot of up and down in my trading career, and I only become a profitable one from 2018.
Emotions play a big part in a trader's career. You can not completely remove it from your trading decision. But the more experience you have, the easier you are to handle these emotions.
🎯Q2: Hello Degen Ape Trader, could you please share your trading strategy? Do you have specific times during the day that you prefer to trade? Also, how do you manage your emotions during volatile market conditions? And how long you typically keep your trades open? Thank you!

It is hard to tell about my trading strategy in one answer, because they are complicated. But in simple terms, I always try to buy when the price is near the support and sell when it is near the resistance. I only long/short the breakout if I the market has a good price structure BEFORE the breakout happens. The best time to trade is during US hours, since that s when market have the most liquidity. Emotions are not easy to control. People usually say you need to remove emotion to trade efficient.

My advice is to watch it closely with both eyes open. Crypto was not around when the bank crisis happened in 2008, so we can not calculate how strong it will affect crypto in general. A good analogy is looking at how Gold performed at that time.
Traditional investors are already interested in BTC and ETH, that is also why you see the Macro news have more impact on the crypto market than in the past.

Pepe is a meme coin, so you treat it like the highest risk asset in Crypto. My plan is to put it in my high-risk watchlist, and when we have a real bull cycle like 2021, I will allocate a part of my investment money to Pepe.

Control your emotions. FOMO usually come from your greedy part. Have a good plan, buy low sell high, and do not be greedy. They are my 3 advices.

It it still good. Crypto deal with these issues for a long time already. So it can affect the price in short term, but for a longer term, I have high conviction in crypto assets.

Capital management is the most important thing to trader. Without capital, you can not comeback if you lose. It is like a fuel in your car. The best way to manage the money is to control your emotions. The 2nd best way is to start an account with a few percentage of your capital. For example if you have 10,000 USD to trade, start an account with 500 USD only. Scale up when you are doing good, scale down when you are not.
🎯Q10: Could you explain about the style of trading you were doing, do you use a specific style or do you use a combination of several styles together? Apart from crypto, are you active in other financial markets, including the forex market? What is your advice for entering and learning to analyze cryptocurrency markets?

I trade all the market including forex, commodities and crypto. I have different styles for different market behavior. At the moment I am running my high risk high reward one, which I also call the degen strategy.

I am still in a Long-bias for BTC and crypto market unless we are trading under 26k again. Sell in May is just a meme, do not put too much weight into it.
🎯Q12: How much influence do other traders and other market sentiments impact your trading? Do you trade soley on what you know in the charts and your own personal views on direction or do you sometimes alter your trades based on what other trusted traders might be speculating?

I strictly only trust my own view. Learning from others are good, but trusting others system can backfire you when things go south.

Its covid 2020, I catch the liquidation wick at 3800 on Bitmex, but paperhand it later after the retest for some small profit. Never forget that paperhand.

Your performance usually should be calculated by yearly basic. There is up and down months, weeks, or days, and sometimes they are just NOISE. Focus on your long-term performance is a better approach. Always start with small money first.

There is no golden rule, but only your rule. Different personality has different trading style. You gotta figure it out what is yours.
The Major Challenge is when your are low in your capital, I was lucky to overcome it since I did not use all of my money when I first start full-time trading.
The riskest one is the time I long the liquidation wick in 2020, covid event.
Always focus on your capital, manage it effectively is the key.
Market will tell you if you are a good trader or not.

Not always, but it just indicated that you did not have a clear plan before entering your trades. I usually avoid doing that, although I still need to do it sometimes.

It is possible. However you have to manage your emotions and play step by step. Do not dream about overnight reach, or it will just backfire to your capital.

Luck is a part of the game. Do not think about it often, because luck and bad-luck event usually come as 50/50 to your overall trade performance. It is always good to listen to good traders and learn from them, but the most important part is your own trading experience. You need to trade to feel and to learn from the market. Theory is just theory, the execution part is what matter.

The most important thing is money management, the 2nd one is emotional control. Both require you to have real trade experience to figure out. Nobody can tell you how to manage your money or your emotions, except yourself. The worst scenario is you enter a long/short without a clear plan, or without a good level of conviction. You will either close your position at loss, or paper-hand it.

All of my knowledge comes from my own trading experience, I do not have any mentors. All possible knowledge can be learned from the internet these days.
My most focus is still BTC and ETH.

I did lost all of my investment capital several time when I just start trading, due to poor money management. Lucky I still have others assets to liquidate so I can continue with my trading career. Capital is very important, do not lose it all as I did in the past.

I think the best approach for new trader is to look into the concept of Price Action. It will help you to understand the market deeply than using indicator.

I have a very good memory and I was good at Math when I was young. That play an important part in my trading styles. However the experience I get from live trading also play their part. So I think both born and learned skill are important. To become a profitable trader, the only way is to experience the live trade with your money, start small at first, and then scale up when you have more confidence.

Always put a SL when you trade. Plan ahead how much money are you willing to lose, and stick to that plan.

Interest rage is a macro event, it threat every assets, not only crypto. So yeah, there is no solution to overcome that threat, you need to adapt your strategy to Fed policy. For example, when Fed is raising rate, avoid entering a Long position with leverage.

Risk reward should be flexible. I mostly focus on Risk than Reward. The more conviction I have with a trade setup, the more risk I am willing to take. My baseline r/r is usually 1/1.5

I always have a Long Term View in general, and my short-term trades are all based on that View. My strategy is a little complicating to write in 1 answer, but I always aim to Long at support and Short at resistance. The only way to control your emotions is to actively trade in the market as many as possible. The more you experience the market, the less impact it can do to your emotion.

Loss and Win are a part of the game. You can not win forever. That is why we have a thing call "Win Rate". If you have a good win rate and a good risk/reward record, it means you are winning in the long term.

To be honest, 100 is too small in this trading era. You can use it as a lesson to learn more about trading. But to be profitable in a long term, you at least need to start with 1000$.

When you have a losing steak, the best thing and also the hardest thing you should do it to STOP. Review your trade plan at first, and then review your emotions. Are you too bias in your view and did not realize that the trend has changed or the market has different behavior? And do not try to win it all back in 1 trade. It only makes thing worse.

The answer is Liquidity. These 2 assets have the most liquidity in crypto so I can trade with less slippage. They are also not easy to manipulated as others altcoin so I can put more conviction in my trade-setup.

Usually when trader realizes that the trend has changed, it is too late already. My best approach is to take partial profit when price is around support/resistance level. And then monitor closely how the market behave before making another decision (Tp the rest or re-add).

To be honest, first I come here because of their invitation since I am a top trader on Binance. But I still stay because BingX platform is a really good one. Good trade execution, no downtime and good fees comparing to others.
